Immigration & Asylum Law
Asylum and human rights claims, and appeals against refusal. Family visas and settlement. Deportation, detention and immigration bail. This is the bulk of what the firm does.
Jemek Solicitors practises in three connected areas: immigration and asylum law, family law, and child care law. Many matters touch more than one of them, and because the firm is small the solicitor you instruct handles your case across all of it, from first meeting to conclusion.
Three areas, and the work inside each one.
Asylum and human rights claims, and appeals against refusal. Family visas and settlement. Deportation, detention and immigration bail. This is the bulk of what the firm does.
Protection from domestic abuse, on an application the court can hear quickly. Divorce and separation. Money, property and pensions. Agreements made before or outside marriage.
Care and supervision proceedings brought by a local authority, where legal aid is neither means nor merits tested. Child arrangements, and adoption.
Whichever area your matter falls in, the same things hold.
One solicitor, start to finish
Your case is not passed between departments. The solicitor you meet first is the one who runs your matter and the one you can reach.
Costs settled before work starts
We assess legal aid at the consultation, on means and then merit, and that assessment decides how your case proceeds. Where you are funding it yourself, the fee is agreed and confirmed in writing first.
Advice in plain English
We tell you where you stand, what is realistically achievable, and what each step will cost, before you commit to it.
Regulated and accredited
Jemek Solicitors Limited is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The firm holds Lexcel, and legal aid franchises in family and immigration.
Each area sets out the services within it and how we handle that work. If your matter spans more than one, start anywhere and we will pick it up from there.
